Ongoing winter tourism in Tibet

Picture taken on Oct. 24, 2009 shows tourists visiting Mt. Nanjiabawa in Nyingchi Prefecture, southeastern Tibet. To develop its tourism industry, Tibet makes great efforts to promote winter tourism. The campaign to visit Tibet in winter started on October 19, with the aim of enabling tourist not only to enjoy greater discounts in hotels and scenic spots, but also to appreciate the famous snow-capped mountains and glaciers. Tibet is expected to receive over five million tourists this year.
