Beijing - Urumqi - Kashgar - Urumqi - Turpan - Dunhuang - Xi'an - Shanghai

Day by Day Itinerary

B-- Breakfast        L-- Lunch        D-- Dinner

Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrive at the Beijing Capital Airport, be met and transferred to hotel by your guide and driver, have a good rest by your own.

Day 02: Beijing (B+L+D)
Today you will do the sightseeing tour to visit the Tian'anmen Square , Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven. In the evening a lively Peking Opera performance at Liyuan Theater will be arranged after dinner at  Beijing Roast Duck Restaurant. Then drive back to your hotel, free on your own.

Day 03: Beijing (B+L+D)
Breakfast in the hotel, then pick you up at your hotel by your guide and driver at 8:00am in the morning, arrange the full day tour to visit the Great Wall at Badaling (you can choose to take cable car, 60RMB per person on your own) and Ming Tombs. After dinner drive you back to hotel, free on your own.


Day 04: Beijing  Urumqi (B+L)
You will take an afternoon flight to Urumqi after visiting the Tibetan lama Temple and having 1.5 hours citizen life excursion at Hutong by rickshaw. Upon arrival at Urumqi airport, to be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 05: Urumqi - Kashgar (B+L+D)
Morning take a flight to Kashgar,  one of the most important city on the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival at airport, to be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon visit historic Etigar Mosque, the Old Street and Abakh Khoja Tomb
 
Day 06: Kashgar - Karakul lake - Kashgar (B+L)
Day trip to Karakul lake (200kms one way) along the Karakurum highway. The lake itself just a destination, but the landscape and scenery along the road is so picturesque that 200kms paved good road takes as much as 5 hours with endless photo stops on the road.

Day 07: Kashgar Urumqi - Turpan (B+L) 
Morning Take a chance to experience the local lively and flourishing Sunday Market. Then take a flight back to Urumqi, to be met and transfer to Turpan directly.

Day 08: Turpan (B+L+D)
Today's adventure begins at the Jiaohe Ruins which was built in Han Dynasty. After lunch and a short break, you will move on to the Karez Irrigation Site and the Sugong Minaret in the afternoon.

Day 09: Turpan - Dunhuang (B+L+D)
This morning you will visit the Gaochang Ruins, you will also tour Flaming Mountain. Have typical lunch at a local restaurant, you will move on to thousand Buddha Caves in the afternoon. In the evening, take an overnight soft sleeper train to another 'Pearl on the Silk Road' - Dunhuang.

Day10: Dunhuang (L+D)
You are suggested to have a brief snack as breakfast on the train before arriving. Upon arrival at Liuyuan station, to be met and transfer to your hotel. Today you will have one full day to visit the shrine of Buddhist art treasures Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum.

Day11: Duhuang Xi'an (B+L)
Experience a short unforgettable camel riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to the Crescent Lake, which is a nature wonder coexist with the desert for thousand of years. Then take a flight to Xian. Upon arrival at Xi'an, to be met and transfer to your hotel. Free on your own.

Day12: Xian (B+L+D)
Breakfast in your hotel, and arrange the full day to visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi'an City Wall. In the evening after the local specialty - Dumpling Banquet as dinner, you will be entertained with the splendid Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show at Shanxi Theater.

Day13: Xi'an  Shanghai (B+L+D)
Morning you will visit the Provincial History Museum, which houses a large collection of historic and cultural artifacts unearthed in Shaanxi Province, then go to visit the Great Mosque and have some free time to explore for some souvenirs or antiques in the Bazaar near the Mosque. Take late afternoon/evening flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai, airport picking up and transfer to your hotel.

Day 14: Shanghai (B+L+D)
Breakfast in the hotel, then pick you up at your hotel by your guide and driver at 8:00am in the morning, arrange the full day tour to the Shanghai Museum, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Yu Yuan Garden and Bund Area. In the evening enjoy the Portman Acrobatic Show at Shanghai Centre Theatre.

Day 15: Departure from Shanghai (B)
Free on your own, then Shanghai airport see-off service and end the trip.

Note: Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (15 km west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (30km southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.

Important notes:
1. The rate is USD1.00 equates to CN Yuan 7.0.
2. Above quota listed is not  valid during the public holidays: 1-6th May, 1-6th Oct,   the periods of Olympic games in Beijing (Jul.15-end of Aug.)& F1 Grand Prix staying in Shanghai.
3. Peak season:  Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug. Sep. Oct.
4. Shoulder season: Jan. Feb. Mar. Nov. Dec.

Tour Inclusions:

1. The economy-class airfare of China flights as specified in the itinerary;
2. Hotels lists in the itienrary or the same level with daily western/Chinese breakfasts;
 *    The hotel accommodation is based on two persons sharing one standard twin room with private facilities in all relevant locations. If a single client requests a twin room alone, the single room supplement will be charged.
3. Daily lunches and/or dinners remarked in the itinerary;
4. Excellent guide & driver(One private English-speaking guide and driver will accompany you on all normal sightseeing tours in each city);
5. All personal entrance tickets;
6. Comfortable and clean air-conditioned car or van;
7. 2 bottles of mineral water each day;
8. Government taxes.

Tour exclusions:

1.The air charge of arrival in the first city of the tour and departure from the last city of the tour;
2. Your own expense;
3. Optional Programs which are not specified in the above itinerary.
