Tour Route: Beijing  - Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse - Mt.Everest Base Camp - Lhasa - Chengdu  - Shanghai

Day by Day Itinerary

B-- Breakfast        L-- Lunch        D-- Dinner

Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrive at the Beijing Capital Airport, be met and transferred to hotel by your guide and driver, have a good rest by your own.

Day 02: Beijing (B+L+D)
Today you will do the sightseeing tour to visit the Tian'anmen Square , Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven. In the evening a lively Peking Opera performance at Liyuan Theater will be arranged afer dinner at Beijing Roast Duck Restaurant. Then drive back to your hotel, free on your own.

Day 03: Beijing (B+L+D)
Breakfast in the hotel, then pick you up at your hotel by your guide and driver at 8:00am in the morning, arrange the full day tour to visit the Great Wall at Badaling (you can choose to take cable car, 60RMB per person on your own) and Ming Tombs. After dinner drive you back to hotel, free on your own.
 
Day 04: Beijing Lhasa (B)
Take an morning flight to Lhasa, where the altitude is 3,650 meters above sea level. On landing in Lhasa you will be transferred to hotel. Have a good rest in the afternoon.

Day 05: Lhasa (B+L)
Today you will visit the World Heritage Sites of  Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkor Market, overnight at Lhasa.

Day 06: Lhasa (B+L)
Today you will visit Drepung, Sera Monasteries and summer palace Norbulingka, overnight at Lhasa.

Day 07: Lhasa - Namtso Lake - Lhasa (B+L)
Day tour to Namtso Lake via Yangpachen hot-spring. You will have a chance to see Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges, and pass the Nagela. Namtso Lake is the sky lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, also the highest salt lake.You can do a little hiking around. On the way back, have hot-spring at Yangbachen(Fee on your own).  Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 08: Lhasa - Yamdrok Lake - Shigatse, 360KM, 7hrs (B+L+D)
Morning drive up to Kambala pass (4794m), you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso there, which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then along the Friendship southern Hwy to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. Late afternoon drive to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 09:  Shigatse -  New Tinggri (Shegar) - Rongphu Monastery  -  E.B.C, 340KM, 6-7hrs (B+L+D) 
Early morning start driving to Rongphu via Lhatse and Shegar, cross over Gyatsola & Pangla Pass, where you will see the Himalaya mountain ranges in a clear day.
  
Rongphu is the highest monastery in Tibet, still a good point to see Mt.Everest. Afternoon start trekking from Rongphu to E.B.C, it takes about 2 hours. Or you can take animal carriage ( 30rmb/per person,round-trip). Overnight at Rongphu guest house. (dorm bed) 

Note: The entrance fee of Mt. Everest Base Camp is 180rmb/per person. Then Entry fee of the Landcruiser to E.B.C. is 405rmb. It is a bit cold to stay at Rongphu, you'd better to take your sleeping bag with you. Please prepare your own package food for Rongphu staying.

Day 10: Rongphu -  Shegar - Shigatse, 340KM, 6-7hrs (B+L+D)
If you are lucky enough, you will see sunrise at E.B.C. Late morning start driving back to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 11: Shigatse - Gyantse - Lhasa, 300KM, 5hrs (B+L)
Morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas, do its kora. Afternoon drive back to Lhasa along the friendship way. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 12: Lhasa Chengdu (B)
Take morning flight to Chengdu, to be met at Chengdu airport and transfer to your hotel. Have a good rest in the afternoon.

Day 13: Chengdu (B+L+D)
This Morning you will visit Qingyang palace which is a Taoism temple with a history of more than 1,000 years; then visit the Thatched Cottage of Du Fu, the former residence of a very famous Tang poet. Du Fu wrote more than 240 poems at this cottage reflecting the sorrows of the village. Have a taste of local sichuan snacks for lunch.
Afternoon drive to visit Wuhou temple, which is built for memorial of one Shu kingdom premier during Three Kingdom period. Then drive to visit Wenshu Monastery which  is the largest and best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu. Have the wonderful taste of the vegetarian food at the Temple for dinner. After dinner, enjoy the Cultural show - Sichua Opera.

Day 14: Chengdu (B+L+D)
This morning you will visit  Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center, in the afternoon drive to Guanghan to visit Sanxingdui Museum  to learn Shu culture which was featured by bronze, jade, potteries articles. You will be astonished by its amazing and mysterious culture. Drive back to your hotel and have a good rest.

Day 15: Chengdu - Leshan Grand Buddha - Chengdu (B+L)
Morning drive to Leshan, visit the biggest sitting Buddha in the world by walking up to Lingyun mountain, have a very close to see the Buddha you need to walk down by the zig narrow path to the foot of the Buddha, and you will find out a lot of stunning small buddha statues around the Giant one.  You can still take a boat to see the whole Buddha (Boat fee by your own). Afternoon drive back to Chengdu.

Day 16: Chengdu Shanghai (B)
Morning is reserved on your own leisure. After lunch take flight to Shanghai, our guide will pick you up at Shanghai airport and transfer you to the hotel. In the evening arrange you to stroll along the Nanjing Road to reach the famous Bund area along the Huangpu River.

Day 17: Shanghai (B+L+D)
Breakfast in the hotel, then pick you up at your hotel by your guide and driver at 8:00am in the morning, arrange the full day tour to the Shanghai Museum, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Yu Yuan Garden and Yu market. In the evening enjoy the Portman Acrobatic Show at Shanghai Centre Theatre.

Day 18: Departure from Shanghai
Free on your own, then Shanghai airport see-off service and end the trip.

Note: Shanghai has two airports: Hongqiao Airport (15 km west of the center of Shanghai) and Pudong Airport (30km southeast of Shanghai). Please make sure you go to the right one for departure.

1. The rate is USD1.00 equates to CN Yuan 7.0.
2. Above quota listed is not  valid during the public holidays: 1-6th May, 1-6th Oct,   the periods of Olympic games in Beijing (Jul.15-end of Aug.)& F1 Grand Prix staying in Shanghai.
3. Peak season:  Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug. Sep. Oct.
4. Shoulder season: Jan. Feb. Mar. Nov. Dec.
