Meals According to the guests' diet, we prepare sumptuous dishes and drinks. we provide both Chinese and Western food for you. Here we have top-ranking chefs, who serve you delicious dishes. The first day, the Captain will hold a cocktail party and the last day, a farewell bouquet party. Time details are as follow: Breakfast: 07:00-09:00 the Chinese & Western buffet dinner Lunch: 11:30-13:00 the Chinese & Western buffet dinner or food series Supper: 18:00-20:00 Buffet and sit down meal, with al fresco. You will be informed in time if the service time changes slightly according to the tour schedule.
Cultural Programs & Entertainment Taiji Boxing
At dawn or dusk, guests will stand on the Sundeck to practice Taijiquan under a professional's guidance, each movement displays the Chinese profound culture. Many have taken up this practice when they get back home. Lectures We offer lectures on Chinese history and culture which add insight and depth to the cruise experience. Topics include the evolution of the dam project and its importance to China, Chinese medicine, poetry by many of the famous Chinese sages, Chinese language, Chinese traditional brush painting, dumpling wrapping, etc. Tea and Cheongsam In the orient, tea is more than a drink, it is even an art. You will be able to sample teas from all over China and be taught the difference between green, Oolong, red, medicinal and herbal tea. You can try on or buy a traditional suit of clothes for women - Qipao, the ladies' favorite. And on the last night dress up in our costumes for photographs or do a skit. You will appreciate the fashion show on stage with a variety of historical and regional dress. Calligraphy & Painting Chinese calligraphy and painting are famous for their particular fascination with misty landscapes. The artists will show you their talent, after that you will have a chance to practice by yourself. Other activities are: story-telling, Mahjong (Majiang), etc. You will come to know Chinese culture and lose yourself in it. Folk Arts The M.S. Yangtze 1 has its Song & Dance Group that will perform the folk dances, acrobatics, magic, cross talk (comic dialog) instrumental music and other acts from the minorities. The members are from Song and Dance Groups and Art Academies, some of them are awarded winning. Gathering Most attendants from every section have much talent for performing. They are good at dancing and singing, when you get to know each other, it will be like a family gathering, you might even find yourself on stage. |
