Tour itinerary:

Day 1 Chengdu / Beijing / Xi'an to Lhasa
Lhasa airport picking up, have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude in the afternoon, overnight at Lhasa.

Day 2 Lhasa sightseeing (B)
Today you will visit the World Heritage Sites of Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple and explore the bustling bazaar along the Barkhor Street, overnight at Lhasa.

Day 3 Lhasa sightseeing (B)
The escorted tours today will cover some other highlights of Lhasa - the Drepung Monastery, the Sera Monastery, both of them are Gelupa Monasteries. And also you will visit the famous Dalai lama summer palace - Norbulingka. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 4 Lhasa / Samye / Tsedang, 260Km, 3-4hour drive (B)
Morning drive to Tsedang, located by Yarlung Valley, it's reputed as "the cradle of Tibetan Civilization. Visit Samye Monastery which is believed to be the first monastery in Tibet with a history of over 1,200 years. Late afternoon drive to visit Yumbulakang Palace - the first palace in Tibet. Overnight at Tsedang.

Day 5 Tsedang / Yamdrok Lake / Gyantse, 300KM, 6-7hour drive (B)
Breakfast at Hotel. Then start to drive up to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. After lunch at Nangartse county, keep driving along the Friendship southern Hwy to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. Overnight at Gyantse.

Day 6 Gyantse / Shigatse / Sakya / Lhatse, 290KM, 6 hour drive (B)
Morning start driving to Sakya via Shigatse. Visit Sakya Monastery, which is the main monastery at Sakyapa, hike around the monastery northern ruins. Late afternoon drive to Lhatse. Overnight at Lhatse Farmer Adventure hostel(twin-room without private bathroom).

Day 7 Lhatse / New Tinggri (Shegar)/Old Tingri/ Rongphu Monastery / E.B.C, 190Km, 3-4hour drive
Early morning start driving to Rongbuk via Shegar, cross over Gyatsola Pass and Pang-la, where you will see the Himalaya mountain ranges in a clear day. Rongbuk is the highest monastery in Tibet, still a good point to see Mt.Everest. Afternoon trek from Rongphu to E.B.C, it takes about 2 hours. Or you can take animal carriage (30rmb/per person,round-trip). Overnight at Rongbuk guest house. (dorm bed)

Note: It is a bit cold to stay at Rongbuk guest house, so you'd better to take your sleeping bag with you. Please prepare your own package food for Rongbuk staying.

Day 8 Rongphu/ Shegar/Shigatse, 340KM, 6-7hour drive
If you are lucky enough, you will see sunrise at E.B.C. About noon time, start driving back to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 9 Shigatse / Lhasa, 300KM, 5hour drive (B)
Morning you will be arranged to visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas, do its kora. Late morning drive back to Lhasa along the friendship way. Overnight at Lhasa .

Day 10 Lhasa airport /train station dropping off (B).
Morning Lhasa airport or train station dropping off, end the trip.
