Introduction:

This exploration tour will take you to the real Shangri-La in the world. The most attractive spots Daocheng and Yading Nature Reserve will show you the charming Shangri-La. Join with us and experience the breathtaking landscape of mysterious land. Driving 6/7 hrs per day. 
 

Tour Itinerary:

B=breakfast, L=lunch, D=dinner

Day 1 Chengdu (L+D)
Chengdu airport pick up and transfer to hotel. Afternoon have a good rest on your own. Overnight at Jindi Hotel (3*).

Day 2  Chengdu sightseeing (B+L+D)
Morning around 08:30 pick you up from your hotel to Jinsha Site museum, which is located in the northwest of Chengdu, 5KM from downtown. Jinsha Site was discovered in Feb.2001, and it was the most significant archaeological discoery in the 21 century in China. Covering a total area of 300.000 square meters, the Jinsha Site Museum is a place for visitors to closely observe the excavation of archeological spot and a perfect place to learn the glorious Chinese culture of the ancient Shu Kingdom.

After Chengdu snacks as lunch, visit Wuhou Temple, which is built for memorial of one Shu kingdom premier during Three Kingdom period. Have a short walk at old Jinli street next by, houses along this street keep Chuanxi style. Then drive to visit Chengdu Songxianqiao Art Market, where you will find Chinese old paintings, unique Shu Brocade and Embroidery, bamboo products and antique staffs, ect. Late afternoon drive to Wenshu Monastery, have the wonderful taste of the vegetarian food at the Monastery for dinner. After dinner enjoy the cultural show - Sichuan Opera at Tea house, which lasts for 1.5 hours.

Day 3 Chengdu / Rilong, 234km, 6hours (B+L)
Departs Chengdu via Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Wenchuan County, visit Wolong Giant Panda Natural Reserve in Yingxiu County, across Balang Mountain (4500m), arrive Rilong at the foot of Sigunniang Mountain. Visit Shuangqiao Valley, in this gully, you can view more than 10 snow mountains over 4,000m high, all the peaks, trees, grasslands, streams, and water drops are completely bared in their natural being, untouched and unspoiled by man. Overnight at Rilong(3 star standard hotel).

Day 4 Haizigou valley trekking (B+L)
In the morning, go and do a trekking inside Haizigou valley, the road leading into the end of the valley is not even, you can choose to hike in or ride a horse in; in this valley, you can view the highest peak of Mount Siguniang, in summer and October, the valley presents you much beauty, flowers, green grass, sea of clouds, ect. Overnight at Rilong Town(3star standard hotel).

Day 5 Rilong / Danba / Xinduqiao, 261km, 5-6hours (B+L)
Drive to Danba from Rilong, en route sightseeing Xiaojin ancient city & the valley of Xiaojin river. Danba is famous for its own beauty valley with pretty Jiarong branch Tibetan women. Visit the unique Danba Ancient block towers in Suopo, the grand and high one thousand years tower groups, the Dadu river valley, feeling and taste the folks and customs of Jiarong branch Tibet people. Afternoon drive to Xinduqiao via Bamei & Tagong, enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way, visit Tagong Monastery. Overnight at Xinduqiao.

Day 6 Xinduqiao / Daocheng, 360km, 8-9hours  (B+L)
Drive from Xinduqiao to our trip destination Daocheng along Yangjiang, cross 2 high passes over 4000m, arrives at Litang- the highest city in the world, view the Maoya Grassland. Across Rabbit Mountain, the biggest Tibetan plateau Glacier relic, and Haizi Mountain Natural Reserve (4500 m). Arrives at Daocheng late afternoon. Overnight at Daocheng.

Day 7 Daocheng / Riwa / Yading Nature Reserve, 118Km, 2hours (B+L)
Drive to Yading Nature Reserve through Daocheng - Riwa (Shangrila) village after breakfast, the countryside scenery en route is very charming and the road is perfect, it drives approximately 2 hours.

Horse-riding to Chonggu Temple, see the scenery of Chonggu Temple and holy peak Xiannairi. From Chonggu Temple trekking up to Drolma-la tso ( Pearl Lake) or ride a horse about 15minutes. Pearl Lake is the best place to view the holy peak Xiannairi. Overnight at Chonggu Temple or Camp there.

Note: Food at Yading Nature Reserve is package food, and accommodation will be dorm bed or camping.

Day 8 Yading Nature Reserve Luorong Pasture / Daocheng (B+L)
See sunrise at Ghonggu Temple, then keep riding horse to Luorong Pasture. It is the best location to pilgrim the three saint peaks of Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong and Xialuoduojie. Afternoon ride horse back to Yading village and drive back to Daochen. Have the famous Rupuchaka hot springs and enjoy the local Tibetan dancing and singing performance. Overnight at Daocheng.

Day 9 Daocheng / Xiangcheng / Benzilan, 271Km, 7hours  (B+L)
Departs at Daocheng early morning, pass Sangdui village to Xiangcheng along different plateau forest scenery and local tibetan villages. Overnight at Beizilan (dorm bed).

Day 10 Benzilan / Deqin, 97Km, 4hours ( B+L)
Walk to see the famous Jinsha River bend, then start driving to Deqin by pass Snow mountains. Overnight at hostels in Feilai Temple where is the best place to see holy Mt.Meili. Mt. Meili is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. 'Kang Karpo Peak' means the God of Snow Mountain in Tibetan, and is a holy land for worshiping. Pilgrims from Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan,and Gansu travel to the mountain at the beginning of each winter to worship. Thousands of devout pilgrims worship together and encircle the holy mountain, adding even more mystery and loftiness to the mountain. 

Day 11 Deqin / Zhongdian, 184km, 6hours ( B+L)
Early morning get up to see the sunrise at Mt.Meili, then start driving to Zhongdian by passing Snow Mountain and Benzilan again. Afternoon visit the Grand Songzhanlin Monastery, which is belong to Yellow school of Tibetan Buddhism and is regarded the little Potala Palace. Overnight at Zhongdian.

Day 12 Zhongdian / Lijiang ( B+L)
After breakfast, we would drive to Lijiang, the World-class Cultural Legacy by UNESCO for its historical remains of building and culture. En route have a chance to see the famous Tiger-leeping Gorges ( Only upper Gorge). The tour will be end once you check in at Lijiang.
